Why eat breakfast?

While you sleep your body is breaking down food, your heart and lungs are still working all night long and your kidneys are flushing any liquids you drank before sleep.

By the time you wake up, you need energy for the morning’s work ahead.

It is interesting to note that the word ‘breakfast’ literally comes from the fact that it breaks the fast of the last few hours when you have been sleeping.

A breakfast that is just made up of cereals alone or white toast and jam is probably going to leave you feeling a little hungry a couple of hours later.

What your body needs in the morning is protein!

Eggs, avocados and salmon are all good sources of protein and breakfast does not have to be the same old things; one can be quite adventurous.

Skipping breakfast is a sure way to make you want to snack on sweet things, so really skipping breakfast can add to weight problems. It is considered good breakfast practice to eat protein.
